End of Year Book Collection Next week

Book Collection:

Following from the announcement of the Public Health Framework on reduction of social distancing measures, it allows for: "Opening of school and college buildings for access by teachers for organisation and distribution of remote learning" at Phase 1.

Therefore, we are hoping to be in a position to facilitate the collection of pupils books and personal possessions that remain in the school.

I would like to outline how this will happen and we appreciate your cooperation and patience in this. Please be advised that these times and dates are provisional at the moment as we await confirmation from Government that teachers will be able to access schools from Monday next 18th May. We are hoping this will be confirmed by Government later in the week.

Pupil workbooks, copy books, pencil cases and work completed by your child earlier this year will be available for collection from the main doors of the school (senior side door and main reception door). Only a parent/adult should come to collect the material. No children should attend as there are still restrictions in place. The days and times for collection are Wednesday 20th & Thursday 21st May (See timetable below). Older siblings books etc will be distributed with younger siblings books.

Book Rental Books

Any textbooks that are provided under the Book Rental Scheme will not be available for collection, unfortunately. The Book Rental Scheme books that are at home will be collected during the First Week in June. Teachers will provide you with a list of these books when you collect your daughters’ materials next week.

Teachers' work outlines from the beginning will reflect the fact that pupils will not have certain books. Teachers will continue to provide direct links to pages required for work, as well as screengrabs/links etc. to make it easier for you to access the learning material online.

Social Distancing

Please respect the measures that will remain in place at that point:

  • 2m distance between people, (cones will mark this distance)
  • Do not congregate/ "wait around",
  • Please remember you should not be interacting with those from outside your household "unit".

As a society all of us has to date made a colossal effort in maintaining social distance and minimising interactions. These efforts should not go to waste at this point by those who chose not to continue to follow the protocols. The slow, measured reduction in social distancing measures is there for ensuring the continued Health and Safety of us all.

The reduction in numbers of those affected by Covid-19 is the reward for sacrifices we have all made during this crisis. It is heartening to know that you and your families are the ones that have had this positive impact and by continuing to follow public health guidelines as laid out in the Public Health Framework you will be the ones that can continue to have a positive impact.

Our thoughts remain with those that have family and loved-ones that are victims of Covid-19. We extend our sympathies and condolences to them.

It has been, and continues to be, a long road. It's important to hold-tight to the prize for our efforts - as many people as possible with their health protected by your efforts.

Please only come on your allocated day/ time as there is coordination required for the collection:-
